Vuosien varrella Oiva on osallistunut lukuisiin näyttelyihin ja kilpailuihin ja poikkeuksetta hyvällä menestyksellä .Nykyisin Oiva toimii koristeveiston opettajana Jurvan Käsi - ja taideteollisuusoppilaitoksella Sekä harjoittaa koristeveistäjän ammattiaan kotityöpajastaan käsin. Tähän päivään mennessä Oiva on saavuttanut kiistattoman aseman johtavana suomalaisena koristeveistäjänä. Oiva on itseoikeutettu esiintyjä alan työmessuilla ympäri Skandinaviaa. Vaatimattomana persoonana Oiva on aina keskittynyt siihen minkä hän osa parhaiten eli veistämiseen. Hänen työnsä puhuvat puolestaan. Woodcarver Oiva Kentta Oiva Kentta began his career as a woodcarver in the early 60´s when he started studying at Jurva school of crafts and design.He completed his studies later with Åke Skjölds Art course. After studies Mr. Kentta worked for several companies in Finland and in 1972 he was granted the title "Master of Carving" by the National Board of Craftsmen. Over the decades Mr. Kentta has taken part in many exhibitions and shows all over Finland. In the 70´s he started his career as a teacher and currently he is working as such at Jurva School of Crafts and Design. During the 80´s Oiva Kentta established his fame as the most well-known and respected decorative woodcarver in Finland. He is a usual sight at work shows in other Scandinavian countries too. As a person Mr. Kentta has been described as sociable but modest. He loves to concentrate on what he can best - woodcarving. For further information please contact the following:
